As a New Yorker, I’ve never been a fan of frozen. C’mon, we have some of the best pizza in the world right at our doorsteps. So I’ve never felt the need to "order" Digiorno, to be honest.
With colder months fully upon us, I thought it would be fun start the year off with a great beneficial DIY face mask!
his mask is not only brightening but it’s great for acne-prone skin (or any skin!) and bringing you a glowy complexion. I simply used manuka honey (read more about this magical honey here), turmeric, and just a squeeze of lemon for this homemade DIY face mask. Each ingredient is a little miracle.
The essential ingredient for this DIY face mask like our secret ingredient is turmeric. This is a invigorating wonder spice — and not just reserved for curry recipes. This vibrant spice is totally beautifying. Turmeric may really surprise you when you discover it:
- reduces redness
- helps with age spots
- reduces hyperpigmentation
- helps to heal psoriasis and eczema
It really helps immunity in the winter months too!
Manuka honey originates from New Zealand, where the bees feast on flowers of the tea tree plant. This potent manuka honey especially great for:
- fighting skin infections
- cleaning pores while naturally exfoliating
- helping skin to retain moisture
- rejuvenating radiance and softness
And it is also anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and high in antioxidants. Seriously!
Next up is fresh lemon juice! Lemon is high in vitamin C which is essential for brightening and evening out skin tone. It’s anti-bacterial which is especially helpful for
- treating breakouts
- promoting radiance
- reduces acne scars
With the lemon, it may seem as if this mask will sting. Don’t worry! It feels soothing and balancing on the skin.
Mix it all up and enjoy!
Start with a clean dry face. Gather away bangs and stray hair behind your head using a headband.
Wear an old T-shirt (preferably black) to avoid staining your clothes. Beware, turmeric can stain almost anyything!
Use a face mask brush or your clean finger tips to apply the mixture from your forehead downwards, moving in a gentle circular motion.
After application, wait for 15 minutes to let the face mask penetrate deep into the skin pores.
When the time is up, rinse off with warm to tepid water. Pat dry using dry tissue paper.
Driving from Milan International Airport to the San Luis Hotel takes a few hours and the stretch of highway to get there is mostly surrounded by apple farms and the occasional stone castle or fort.
